Stories Beyond Service preserves the stories of Veterans through filmed interviews and documentary storytelling, giving Veterans the opportunity to share their experiences in their own words and on their own terms.

Why we do it

Many Veterans' personal experiences are never formally recorded. We believe those stories—the service, transitions, challenges, growth, and life beyond the uniform—are worth preserving.

Founder

Matthew Skipper is a U.S. Army Veteran, filmmaker, and the Founder and President of Stories Beyond Service. His experiences in the military and passion for visual storytelling led him to create an organization focused on preserving the individual stories of Veterans. Through documentary filmmaking, Matthew works to give Veterans a space to share their experiences in their own words and ensure their stories are preserved for future generations.
